Taylorsville MetroPark-South

Took trail going South from the parking lot. Wanted to try a new path while I had extra time at lunch. Beautiful day, cooler and sunny. Plenty to see and parts of the trail were very scenic, but I can see why this side has more bike traffic than foot traffic. There is a new sewage treatment facility not far off the West side of the path (South of I40 between Cassel Rd and the train tracks) where construction vehicles also cross. While I didn't encounter any vehicles today, the smell made it unpleasant almost the whole time. Still felt great to get out to walk and run a little though. Passed an almost hidden and very old cemetery, train tracks and the Taylorsville damn, a playground/ picnic area, and a lovely shaded aisle. There are also cross-country/ nature viewing paths cut through fields in the basin below the main path (accessable by stairs) . Took a quick look at the North and more wooded trail. I would like to explore this area more next time.

Walking

Might want to avoid this part if the wind is blowing from the W/ SW
