A rare loop in the NE area of Geoje island. Several mountains and beaches/waterfronts have been visited. Indicative can be mentioned: Heungnam beach, Sibang quay, Cicada Castle, Daegeumsan, Jungbongsan and the remnants of once important castle , Jeungbong, Sanggeumsan, Yulcheonsan, Jeseokbong, Jeseoksan and other peaks that they are not even on the map.
Hiking/Backpacking
1. Best views from Daegeumsan and Jungbongsan. Good views from Jeseoksan.
2. In case the time allows and the ferry schedule suits you once you arrive at Sibang quay... an extension to Isudo (이수도) is recommended.
3. The part from Jeseokbong to the beginning of the trail to Daegeumsan is very rarely visited and although you can find the path....the thick vegetation is a problem and between May-November it will be hard unless you have proper equipment to open the path. However there are peaks to be discovered that are not even mentioned on the map. Best time to do this loop is...winter.
4. For the part of my trip between the beginning of the trail to Daegeumsan to the castle of Jungbongsan dont follow my route since I probably missed the right turn and I had to climb.
5. In every season (not only in summer) the beach areas in this trip are very popular and have many pensions, caffes, shops etc. Cicada castle seems that for some reason...romantic and popular for the Koreans.
