We rode from Sheep Creek trailhead to Sheep Lake. Approximately 12 water crossings to offer water to stock, approximately 2500’ elevation gain over 6 miles, long and fairly gradual switchbacks, lots and lots of rocks so hoof protection is a must. The trail offers a lot of trees for shade with several meadows and clearings as well.
The lake provides a beautiful lunch spot with several trees for tying up your horse. Not a lot of traffic and very peaceful.
Parking is a small gravel loop with a few places to park trailers. Hitching rails and an outhouse at the trailhead.
