Heysen Trail - Bundaleer Weir to Curnow’s Hut

I was very lucky to enjoy the hospitality of Lyn and Glenn last night, who made me a delicious dinner, dessert and a fantastic cup of tea, then a warm and comfortable bed for the night. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing some of what it takes to run a farm, and I suspect I only heard the tip of the iceberg of Lyn and Glenn’s travels and community service over the years. Glenn dropped me back to the weir after a drive to see the Bundaleer reservoir. I set off on a warmer sunny morning, so different to the first two days! Today’s hike is not that long, as I decided when planning this section hike not to go straight from Spalding to Curnow’s Hut. I liked the idea of having a smaller day to slow down and take it easy. I was following the creek line most of the morning, and getting baa’ed at by the many sheep I saw. The hills of yuckas were amazing. The trail was surprisingly tricky in certain spots. I’m worried I’m losing my touch! Nevertheless the day was pleasant, with blue skies, peace and solitude in a beautiful part of SA that many people won’t see unless they pop some hiking shoes on and jump on the trail
