What an adventure this was. While I was Driving in the Night before in the Hope to get to the Trailhead at the Pass of Collado de la Mina. The Road was Snow Covered but a nice Spur to follow for the first part before it got too steep and I lost momentum going around a Corner and eventually came to a Stop. What a Mess, No chance to Start up the Road with the Tires spinning in the Snow. So I had to back down the Hill in reverse on Snow and in the Dark. Slowly and carefully I backed up without sliding off the Road. Eventually I was able to Turn around and could drive down a bit further before I could Park on the Side of the Road for the Night. In the Morning with First Daylight I could see the Summit between the Trees and only 0.6 Miles away. How tempting is that to go for it. Problem is the Steep Hill, Plenty Trees and The Snow. Eventually I walked the Road up to the Pass for about 2 KM before going Cross Country towards the Peak in much gentler terrain and Low Brush. Being very careful and on the Lookout for Open Mines as Mentioned in another Trip Report as well as Sign Posted. Did only see one and avoided it as I made my way to the Summit. About an Hour after starting I was on the Summit with a Beautiful Sunrise. On my return I did the Shortcut directly back to my Car and was back about 30 Minutes later. Not bad while it was steep and slippery near the Summit but the Brush was low and the Trees far enough apart to make this descent work well.
