Lucky day to stay dry on rainy day with lucky wildflowers spots in more than 380 miles and about 13 hours wildflowers trip. On and off rain or shower.
Likely after peak in Carrizo Plain National Monument and Shell Creek Road wildflowers .
1. Carrizo Plain National Monument Southern Entrance Wildflowers: Rainy upon arrival. Therefore, decided to try Cottonwood Canyon Rd Wildflowers after short stop in Wildflowers in the Southern Sign with umbrella. ~9:35 to 9:45
2. Highway 166 stops: Made 3 stops along Highway 166 with only a little Wildflowers. May assess less than 10% of 2023 Trip with on and off rain.
3. Cottonwood Canyon Rd Wildflowers: 3 stops with good timing without rain on rainy day for more than half hour in each stop.
- First stop ~10:55 to 11:45 as stopped to rain about 11:45 with shoes and lowe pants totally wet
- 2nd stop ~11:50 to 12:45 with nice weather before shower again
- 3rd stop ~12:55 to 1:25 without rain
4. Pismo Beach seaport drive stop at Shell Beach for wildflowers watching from 2:35 to 3:00pm
5. Shell Creek Road wildflowers from 3:50pm to 5:15pm with cloudy sky for less than 1.5 miles wildflowers walk. Gave up to cross the creek as too much water.
