Since we bought the Custer State Park 7 day pass so we could park to ride Rushmore, we decided to get our money's worth and go over to French Creek today. I have only ridden thru there when I did my thru ride of the Centennial Trail so I've never driven to there, just rode a horse thru it. We found the horse camp and the day use parking area and headed out to explore some trails. We didn't have enough time to make any significant loop rides, some of those are 8+ hours to ride, so we just kind of hunted and picked our way around. All of it was beautiful and we had lots of Creek crossings. We didnt see the bison today but we did see a herd of big horn sheep.
