Built in 1936, this 54' steel International Derrick tower also had an L-4 cab for living quarters. The tower was staffed into 1938, and has been abandoned ever since. The L-4 cab was destroyed many years ago by a falling snag.
No trails to this summit. I hiked in from the east after driving in from the northeast (West Fork) and then down Gold Creek to BIA 70. 5.5 miles round trip 1800 ft. The temperature was in the high 80's.The first part of the hike was on an old abandoned road which faded away and then a bushwack. On the way back down I was looking at another ridge down that looked like a more gentle slope and more direct. I thought that I got off track and over corrected and ended up back on the abandoned road looping around a little. I did get a tick bite up at the summit.
From the summit (and the road below) you can see Moses Mtn fire lookout to the SW.
