Today our local friend and guide had to bail on us so we were on our own. I've only ridden thru here once and that was 5 years ago on a 130 mile pack trip. We found our way along a beautiful mountain creek and came out at a job Corp center. Employees told us to follow the main road up to a forest service gate, so we did that only to go a short distance to a private gate with a no trespassing sign with some cows standing at the gate. We turned back to attempt another way and were met by the rancher/land owner coming in to check his cows. He said there was no way to loop the trail so we went back the way we had come. Funny thing is, he recognized K9 Ike from the KOTA morning news! My famous dog! We ended up finding a little connector trail, thanks to my trail apps and ended up going up in some bluffs with great views. And, from there, we made it loop back to camp. Great Ride. Spin was good. His first campout. For a young horse, he truly is a good boy. He led most of the way and hopped up on some rocks to get where we needed to go without hesitation, unlike the older mule with us....or maybe the mule is just too smart? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
