Silver Creek Park and Campground/ Allegan State Game Area

From site 70 we rode to the east entrance, then followed Lady Slipper Trail to the day use trailhead. We turned right at Creek View Trail (very pretty) and followed it around to West Boundary Trail. We then turned right onto trail SC4W. We followed SC4W to SC6 and followed it counterclockwise. At trail marker 6, we turned right onto SC4, then left onto SC4E back to the trailhead. We watered the horses in the creek. We then followed Lady Slipper Trail to Old Trail back to camp.

Horseback Riding

Trails are sandy, fairly level to rolling hills, and generally wooded with a lot of oak, maple, pine, and sassafras. Parts of the trail are sand road or right along paved road. If you only ride the trail loops without the extensions to the roads, the trails ride much shorter than the distances on the map. Silver Creek Park and Campground has no hunting within the park boundaries. Allegan State Game Area trails are open to hunting and are closed to horseback riding from November 15-30. Wear orange during hunting seasons.
