Haliacmon/Aliakmon is 1 prehistoric better to say mythical river since ancient times. Today is the longest river thats flows entirely in Greece for 297Km. In the area near Grevena there are 2 rivers suitable for rafting and swimming Veneticos and Aliakmon (in fact I met several people going there for swimming). However during summer time the waters of Veneticos are not enough for rafting. For this Rafting I used the services of Trekking Hellas and the tour started and ended at the village of Felli near Grevena. Overall experience easy and enjoyable nevertheless we could jave enjoyed more if the level of water was higher.

Kayaking/Canoeing

Best Season between December and May. During Summer and Autumn the level of the river and the speed of the water are low. Bird watching is interesting but be aware of the BEARS.
