Lake Kathlyn, Smithers, British Columbia, Canada

Early-ish start. It was very quiet, except for the trains passing by, (who will sound their horn if you wave your kayak paddle their way), the highway traffic, and planes taking off from the airport, directly across the highway. Beautiful scenery makes up for all the noise. We launched from the park. There is a change room, and plenty of parking. Our friends launched from the opposite side, at a public boat launch. Saw a few Loons, Canada Geese, and lots of fish jumping. The swallows were also fun to watch as they skimmed above the water.
