Be careful when you walk off the marked tracks (better not do it) as the moor can be dangerous and there are occasional animal traps.

If you love moor walks, the Bronte Sisters and/or Wuthering Heights in particular then this walk is for you. The house Ponden Hall is said to have been inspiration for Wuthering Heights and you can visit and see Cathy's reading nook with the bible and where she saw the ghost. Then you can head out to the moor, where the Bronte Sisters actually walked and see old quarries, wonderful views and treacherous moor pits. It's an easy walk with the typical Yorkshire moor landscape.
