Campsite D does not currently have potable water (June of 2020). But there is creeks southwest of the site, through the woods, and water two miles back towards the furnace trail entrance. So, take a filtration system. Also, down from camp site D and on a right turn, there is a trail that is no longer in use (at least not on the map and is overgrown further south) that has more secluded camp sites. There is a picture of such a site, the one with no tents and just a fire pit.

Hike from Iron Furnace entrance to camp site I. Then down the service road, back on the trail and to camp site D. Some rummaging in the woods for water due to campsite D having potable water as the other sites have (the water was not operational). And lastly, some accidental tracking of our route driving home.
