Turned back due to time .5 miles to another overlook.. it's 1.8(?) according to the trailhead sign to the overlook but I turned around at 1.5mi (the highest point). It's a walk in the forest mostly with varied light. For the most part the trail is flat with loose rocks. I did it in sandals as it was hot and dry but I wouldn't even attempt this in rain- looks like it would be slick and lots of stones to deal with if you need perfectly flat surfaces.
