Hoppy Tr’Ale – New Jersey Beer Co. & Bottle Co.

New Jersey Beer Company Tasting Notes (Overall 2.75/5 -> rate quickly going down every time I visit; wonder if they changed the brew master.) 902 Blueberry Sour: Plain sour with very subtle blueberry flavor. Enjoyable yet not impressive. (3/5) P.A.T.H. Pale Ale: This batch didn’t come out right. Funky cloudy hop aroma with even weirder after-taste. (1.5/5) Hudson Pale Ale: Cleaner yet more bitter than PATH Pale Ale. Not my style. (2.5/5) Brady’s Nightmare: Hazy and juicy New England-style with sweetness at finish. Well-done. (4/5) PIT Boss: Unbalanced and boozy DIPA. Overdid it. (2/5) Chocolate Oatmeal Raisin: Smoothness from the oatmeal, lots of raisins at finish and a slightest hint of chocolate. Light finish followed by 8.5% punch. (3.75/5) ———— Bottle Co. Tasting Notes Fordham & Dominion – Morning Glory Espresso Stout: Tasty espresso stout with just right amount of bitterness. Bold and robust. Hit every note that I like in coffee stouts. Beer’s wonderful though served super chilled at Bottle Co. which was rather disappointing. I feel that they should know how to handle/store each brew rather than keeping all the tanks at the same temperature. Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling – Kentucky Rickhouse Series #4 - Break in the Law: Barrel-aged w slight oak from Bourbon barrel and lots of raisins; this Imperial Stout is complex n enjoyable by the fireplace in snowy winter. Warming n boozy. I got lucky that the bartender poured (in hurry) in the 16oz pint glass when it was supposed to be 12pz. A pint of 14% is little too much though. And once again, it’s chilled like a Pilsner in tropics when it should have been enjoyed more like a room-temp or slightly lower. But, that’s nothing to do with the quality of this brew.
