NYC: Governors Island & Bushwick

Queens Brewery – Spacious and industrial atmosphere with exposed pipes and wires above and with wooden tables/seats like a German Bierhaul. So far only three brews available for tasting, but they will soon roll out more brews like Pale Ale and Stout. Queens Blvd (Session Ale): Nice smooth session ale with little characteristics; good for a hot steaming summer day. (3.25/5) Queens Blau (Blueberry Ale): Seems like the same ale as the previous one with the slightest hint of blueberry. Not very exciting, but it’s decent. (3/5) Shinobi Ramen – A Hispanic owned small parlor that accommodates up to 12-15 people at once. Fashionably decorated and hip place, but best of all, their ramen was fantastic! Their Mabo Ramen offers a thick miso-based broth with good spices; noodles are were firm and al dente. Being a Mabo ramen, it offered ground pork and tofu as toppings, which are unusual to the Japanese ramen, but they went very well with the thick broth. It’s a all-round 5-star ramen shack, and you won’t be sorry stopping by here! Totally recommended!
