Short training hike before I go to Grand Canyon in a couple of weeks.
Gray and cool morning. Good for hiking.
The area is still pretty open and barren after the wildfire that swept through a couple of years ago. Crossing San Ysidro creek on the way back was strange. It used to be overgrown and just a small ford, maybe 8 feet wide. Now, the creek bed is 8 feet deep and maybe 15 feet wide. All the result of the flooding following the fire.
Wildflowers are starting to come out though. That was very nice to see.
