Curse of the Mutated Alien Crab Claws

Goodness knows what today's medium ride leader Lawrie has been up to but turning up with one's hands mutated into some ghastly alien crab claws was probably not a good idea - nobody wanted to go on his ride. After some undignified and frankly embarrassing pleading and begging, four of us agreed to join his ride. We made our way via Iver and Colnbrook to Liquid Leisure in Horton for our morning break to find that it was shut. BLACK MARK Lawrie ! After some discussion and argument but wary of his angry clicking claws we followed him to an alternative venue; the George in Wraysbury. Very nice pub with a roaring fire and one of Henry Coopers boxing gloves on display in a case. From there we went on along the Thames to the Feathers in Laleham for a slap up lunch before heading back via Staines and Stanwell Moor for tea at the Vermulins garden centre and then back to Uxbridge via Harmondsworth etc. A very nice day out with Lawrie on a cold grey day.
