This loop follows the Refuge Trail (ATV black diamond, due to steep section where it connects to Evitts Mtn Rd which is a Bureau of Forestry 4WD road.) We hiked the loop so that we descended the steep section. We hiked out Refuge Trail from the big parking area to where Hog Pen Trail cut down to Martin Hill Road. We walked up Martin Hill Rd past the Sweet Root overlook to Tower Road. As soon as turning on Tower Rd, we went on the ATV trail which parallels the road. We stayed on it all the way to the top at the towers. We picked up Evitts Mtn Rd at the towers and hiked to where Refuge trail turned right and down the steep descent & then all the way back to our vehicle on Refuge Trail.
