FLT M25 Bear Brook - 05/21/2018

The trail description was a little cryptic for the walk down to the creek - leave the road on the right, return, leave on the left... never did see the part where it leaves on the right, but with a few steps backtracking found the part where it leaves on the left, and whoa! What a great creek side walk! I actually decided to take a slower pace to just enjoy it, and I stopped to sit multiple times. At one point I waded across the creek to check out an interesting beaver dammed section and found where the trail used to go! After the beavers dammed this section the creek moved and left a pond at the bend so the trail was moved. Was tempted to take a dip in the creek, but in the end I didn't. I bet the farm kids used to come down to some of the swimming holes in days gone by. Saw scat with skunk fur in it - wonder who ate that? One section was a Ramp paradise. Found a bank of Trillium. Several waterfalls. A nice camp site. Fields full of dandelions - no longer being farmed?
