Adalac Benchmark

This could be a short Hike approaching from the East if you have a High Clearance Vehicle to get within a Mile from the Summit. With my low Clearance I drove in from the North till the end of the Pavement and followed the Gravel Road a few more Miles to a Corral where I had to Park. The Road is not bad it just gets very Sandy. So better not taking the Risk of getting stuck. Easy hiking on the Road which I could not drive for a about 4 more Miles before heading over easy dessert into a wash and towards the Mountain. Follow a Canyon till you get to the Ridgeline, which you see from below and drop down the other side. You can see the Summit just ahead of you. A little Scramble to get there but nothing difficult. You will find a Register and great views up there on a rarely visited Peak. On my way back I followed the Ridgeline for a while before traversing down into a Wash and following this to the Road and back to the Car. Ended up hiking about 11 Miles in total, mostly on the Road. Sounds long but you make good time on the Road. Happy Hiking, Josef
