Peakbagging is one of those Hobbies where you just need to make a decision on what feels right at times. Being in the area and having the possibility of hiking to the County Highpoint in a relatively short time was enticing enough to just stealth this one. As I was sitting on the side of the Road putting on my Boots a Highway Patrol Officer stopped asking if I was ok. I told him don’t worry I am fine and just study the Map which is fact was also true lol…. This put additional pressure on me to get this one done fast as the Car is parked literally on the side of the Road in plain view. So off I went to jump over the fence and hiked up to the top of the Butte. It’s a steep and loose slope. Great view from the top but again anybody’s Guess what is the true Highpoint. If it would be not for the County Highpoint nobody in their right mind would hike up there. About 50 minutes later I was back at the Car and drove off without any incident. Would have taken longer to look for the Homeowner and ask for permission. I don’t feel bad about it since all we do is to hit the highpoint, take a few pictures and leave no trace behind.
