Planning for 9 miles Noble Lake with 9978ft Tryon Peak opportunity.
First to see so busy Highway 4 with a lot of cars starting from Mosquito Lake. Started to worry Ebbetts Pass parking lot.
It was true that occupied by event -
Alta Alpina Challenge: Riding the Wild Sierra June 25, 2022 Markleeville.
Parked at Reynolds Peak Monument about 0.3 miles from Ebbetts Pass at 12:20pm and started to rain which stopped after about 15 minutes. Therefore, decided to stay on Noble Lake plan. Rain again after less than half mile. Decided to give up after about 0.5 mile hiking on PCT and thinking to hike Kings Canyon Waterfalls Loop which should be sunny. The sky cleared up over Ebbetts Peak area. Therefore, decided to hike PCT north of Ebbetts Pass and may turn back about 5pm. Thunderstorms again about 4pm at Upper Kinney Lake. ~4:50pm heading up to Ebbetts Peak from Sherrold Lake. ~5:10pm on Ebbetts Peak.
~5:30pm heading back via short cut.
~5:50pm back to parking at Reynolds Peak Monument
