We got a little turned around and ended up on the northern slope going up. Need to be careful and avoid what I call the "summer" route to Snow Lake as it crosses a number of avalanche areas. Stick to the Alpental side and it's safer although there are still a couple smaller areas. Check NWAC.US before going out to get an initial assessment of the avalanche concern in the area.
The route is to head to Source Lake via the Alpental side path. Watch for skiers coming down as this is a popular area for side/backcountry skiers. Once at Source Lake head up to the ridge line and over to Snow Lake.
It was a cold and windy day so we didn't venture down to Snow Lake. Another time.
