I set off on this trip to complete some unfinished business. On a previous trip I didn't quite make it to the Mundoo barrage due to lack off time and unfavourable weather conditions, this time the winds were light and I had plenty of time.
I launched from the car park near the Snug Cove jetty, there was a cleared area among the reeds.
The trip involved some long sections of paddling across open water just to cover the kilometres, if it's windy you can encounter large waves, so check the weather conditions. There is more to see in the Mundoo channel, farm houses, cows, water-rats, birds (there were quite a few Cape Barren Geese) as well as the remains of the old wooden barrage and the current Mundoo barrage.
