The trail today set off just the same as the end of yesterday it was easy, pleasant walking until I had to do some more creek walking. After a while the trail follows a fire track up and down a couple of very small hills. Having climbed over an unusual type of stile I went off in slightly the wrong direction but soon realised the error and rejoined the trail. After a quick break I walked around a corner only to find a massive creek bed (I would actually call it a dry river bed it was so large!!). I realised I had to follow it for quite a distance before following a different creek off to the left hand side. I found the turning but didn’t seem to be able to actually walk on the red line I was seeing on my Far Out App. Due to this I ended up crossing the creek multiple times and this was not a dry creek. All I can say is that I can confirm that my hiking shoes are waterproof and that mud brown isn’t too bad a colour for them🤣🤣🤣. Eventually I realised that I should now be at Mayo hut and when I looked around I realised I had actually slightly passed it as it was high up on the opposite bank so my final challenge of the day was to cross the very wide dry creek and climb the bank to the hut at the top. I did all this without further incident and settled in for a night with the fire burning brightly.
